Dublin Community Games Cross Country Qualifiers

Tallaght Athletic club juvenile athletes were very prominent at the Dublin Community Games Cross Country Qualifiers at Tymon Park on Sunday. At stake were medals and the possibility of representing Dublin at the National Community Games Finals which will be held in Mosney in May.

First on the podium for the club was Anne Marie Mc Lean who finished fast to secure her trip in the U12 grade. Aisling Johnston showed her rivals a clean pair of heels when storming home in the U13 race and she will be joined in Mosney by club mate Roisin O Hanlon who finished a very fine 3rd place.

In the boys U13 race Ciaran Dunne came from fourth place to first in the home straight just ahead of his team mate Niall Forrester who also secured his place at Mosney. Sean Fitzsimons just missed out by one place but may yet get called up to compete as he is first substitute.

Carla Fullam repeated last years result and came home in 3rd place in the Girls U14 race while Tallaght athletes dominated the Boys U14 race with Brian Gregan in 1st place and Peter Fitzsimons and Oisin Purcell and Michael Solan all booking their places in Mosney.


The club travels to Dunboyne on Easter Sunday to compete in the Easter Racing Festival at Senior and Juvenile level and are confident of more success.
