Kit Kat Tailteann
Irish Schools` Interprovincial Tallaght Athletic club had two of their most promising juvenile athletes in action at the Kit Kat Tailteann Irish Schools`Interprovincial which was held last Saturday at Tullamore Harriers Stadium. Orla Nugent confounded all the experts when she put in the best performance of the day to win the Girls U17 1500M event in a season’s best time of 4.39. This performance was recognised by the officials who awarded Orla the “Best 1500M athlete of the Day” award. Orla will now go forward to represent the Irish Schools Athletic Association at the International Schools Track and Field Championships in July. Meanwhile, Bronagh O Hanlon stepped up a year to compete in the U17 3000M and she showed her recent form was no fluke when finishing in fourth place in a very experienced and competitive field. Both of these girls will be part of a very strong Tallaght squad which will compete over three weeks at the National Juvenile Athletics Championships in July.
