Tallaght AC athletes were back on the podium this weekend at the National Indoor Masters Championships of Ireland in Nenagh.

Just two athletes travelled to compete at these championships and both came home with two National Medals.
John Kelly continues to impress and he can be well pleased with his efforts having won the Gold medal in the Veteran 1 Class 400M Final. He completed a very satisfactory day by taking the Silver medal in the Veteran 1 Class 200M Final.

Tallaght’s only other competitor Desie Shorten followed up last weeks Cross Country success with a Silver Medal performance in the Veteran 4 Class 400M and also in the longest race of the day – the 3K.
Desie’s time 9.52.72 broke last year’s course record for the 3K as did the time of the winner from North Laois.

Earlier in the week Tallaght’s Anthony Lieghio produced a fine performance to take 4th place in the Senior race at the DCU Invitational Schools Cross Country.

Tallaght will be well represented later this week at the West Leinster Schools Cross Country at the Phoenix Park and will travel in large numbers on Sunday to compete in the AXA Raheny 5 mile road race.
