Tallaght Athletic Club on
the Podium in Rathfarnham Races

Tallaght Athletic Club made their mark at the Rathfarnham WSAF road races last Sunday.
In glorious weather conditions the Clubs Juveniles were first into action in the 1K race for 12 to 15 year olds. Tallaght’s Mark Power who was making his first appearance for the club powered home to win with club mate Sean Bolger in second and Peter Fitzsimons in 4th. The girls also performed strongly with Sarah Bodie taking second and Aoibheann Tierney snatching 3rd place.
The 5k race was won by James Nolan and Catherina Mc Kiernan and mixing it with the best were Tallaght AC’s Junior Teams.
Bronagh O Hanlon won the Junior Ladies title and her team of Emer O' Neill, Orla Nugent, Tracy Williams and Aoife Mc Carthy won the Junior Ladies team title.
Robert Fitzsimons was the fourth Junior male home and his team of Luke Coleman, Shane Doody, David Somerville and Chris Healy took second place in the Junior male category.
Desie Shorten, James Crowley, Ray Fitzsimons ,Chris Jones, and Jennie O Connor also ran well at Senior level and all of these performances ensured the large Tallaght support had plenty to cheer about on the day.

Meanwhile the club are sending a large juvenile contingent to the Navan Open Sports Track and Field competition next Sunday.
