Fitzsimons, Johnston and Corcoran secure Cross Country League Gold Medals

The final race of the Dublin Athletic Board Juvenile Cross Country League was held on Sunday at the Magazine Fort course in the Phoenix Park. 

In the U10 600M Lauren Power 6th, Ciara Henry 7th Grace Kristensen 8th Shannon Mahon 9th are in contention for league medals while Shauna Mahon and Aisling Barrett are ones for the future as is Laura Lacey who made her race debut for Tallaght AC yesterday.
Alan Hudson also wins a medal following his 7th place finish yesterday.
Sean Fitzsimons ran a game race to finish 12th in the U11 800M as did Rhys Coleman and Ciaran Murray in the U12 1000M.
Jade Corcoran who is awaiting her transfer to Tallaght AC, finished second yesterday but wins the U12 league outright and Ciara O Leary and Roisin O Hanlon also take medals at U12 degree while Catherine Power and Sarah Boyd both improved their league placings.
In the Boys U13, Eoghan Hennessy and Darryl Mahon are also expected to be awarded medals while Niall Forrester put in his best race of the season to finish 9th with Jason Power just behind in 11th place.

It was Tallaght 1 and 2 for the third time in the league series in the Girls U13 1000M with Aisling Johnston in 1st place and Rebecca Game in 2nd while Fiona Byrne also collected points for her 8th place finish. 
Tallaghts only runner in the Boys U14 1500M was Peter Fitzsimons and he collects a medal for finishing fourth overall as does Aoibheann Tierney who finished 3rd in the Girls U14 1000M while Clara Mulligan ran bravely on to finish well.
The Boys U15 1000M was again dominated by Tallaght athletes with Robert Fitzsimons storming home in 1st to win the league outright, Luke Coleman takes 3rd place in the league and Brian Gregan secured 4th place overall while Anthony Legio ran a massive debut race in 7th with Sean Bolger in 8th.
Sarah Bodie and Kate Whelan finished 2nd and fourth in their U15 league while Mark Power’s third place yesterday moved him into 3rd place overall in his first season with the club. David Somerville finished 4th with Shane Doody running with an injured arm in 7th.
Bronagh O Hanlon consolidated her position when finishing 3rd in the U16 2000M.
Chris Healy continues to improve and he finished in 3rd place in the U17 series while Aoife Mc Carthy and Emer O Neill are also in the shake up for medals with the final placings to be established later today.

This bunch of committed athletes now begin to prepare in earnest for the Dublin Athletic Board Juvenile Cross Country Championships which will be held in Santry and Cabinteely on November 9th and 16th .
