TALLAGHT ATHLETES PERFORM WELL AT LEINSTER SCHOOLS CROSS COUNTRY

Tallaght AC juvenile athletes were in action at the Leinster Schools Cross Country Championships at St Clare's Grounds near DCU on Wednesday February 11th. Qualification for the All Ireland Championships required the athletes to secure a top 12 placing.
Aisling Johnston ran gamely in the Junior Girls to finish in 5th place with, Sarah Bodie in 20th, Rebecca Game in 51st and Stacy O Connor in 56th. These placings were sufficient get the Team Silver award for their school Colaiste De Hide and they all go forward to the National Finals in Antrim.
Next up were the Minor Boys and Peter Fitzsimons from St Marks Community School was the lone Tallaght AC athlete in this event and Peter will be well pleased with his 16th place finish.
In the Intermediate Girls race Bronagh O Hanlon (St Marks C.S) just missed out on her place in the National Championships when finishing in 13th place while Tallaght's Sean Bolger was 22nd in the Intermediate Boys and Brian Gregan also ran well finishing in 48th place.
In the Ladies Senior race, Tracy Williams will be well pleased with her return to competitive schools athletics having finished in 7th place and thereby secures her place in the National Championship line up.
Meanwhile this coming Saturday no less than 25 Tallaght AC Juvenile athletes will receive awards at a Presentation Night for their achievements in last years Dublin Athletic Board Cross Country League.
