Tallaght AC's Master 0/40 runner Bill
Murphy has had a really solid summers running as proved in his 3rd place
finish in this years BHAA Individual Summer league. Bill, who runs
off a standard of seven has trained hard and performed well all summer
and he can pat himself on the back for a job well done. The pick
of his BHAA races were the Intel 8k (21st place), one of his favourite
races the ESB 5k on the beach in Sandymount (18th) and the 3k track race
in Ringsend (3rd) where he used his noted finishing kick to skip past a
few runners on the home stretch. Well done young man, keep up the good
work.
Over in the USA, Desie Shorten performed superbly again at the weekend
in the annual Reno 8k where he finished 10th overall and 1st in his
category with a time of 29min 34sec over tough terrain. He wasn't
particularly happy with the time but when there was 9,990 athletes
behind, you know you have ran a good race. Well done Desie.
