GREAT SHOW FROM TALLAGHT AC IN DUBLIN HALF MARATHON

Ten of Tallaght AC's Female athletes toed the line in the 2007 ADIDAS DUBLIN HALF MARATHON last  Saturday morning in the sultry heat of the Phoenix Park.

Over 4000 athletes started the race which was very well organised by Jim Aughney and his marathon crew. Many of our ladies were attempting this distance for the first time but under the stewardship of Ray Fitzsimons they flourished and performed brilliantly on the day. First home for our girls was Deirdre Pitts closely followed by her training partner Jacqui Boyle.

Derek Quinn was first male home. But performance of the day has to go to Ray Fitzsimons who knocked a great 35 seconds off his previous p.b. for the distance.

The following are the finishing times of our athletes .Well done to all.

Frank Ferguson unfortunately picked up a knee injury and made a valiant effort to continue but had to stop. Colm Barcoe was pacing Martin Haddock but dropped out after 7 miles.
