An Historic Day for the Club

Friday 10th September 2010 was an historic day for the club after the new track was officially opened by Liam Hennessey - President of the Athletics Association of Ireland.

This wouldn’t have been achieved without the vision of former and present committees and member’s, the hard work, dedication and commitment over many years has finally paid off, well done we should all be very proud of a wonderful achievement.
The Deparment of Tourism, Sport & Culture/Sports Capital Grants Programme, The Local Development Group for the Young Peoples Facilities & Services Fund, South Dublin County Council were acknowledged on the day for helping to fund this new facility.

On the day, Conor Murray, Sean Mc Cabe, Uchenna Uwechue and Jade Johnston bravely combined to break the 4 minute mile barrier, but unfortunately missed out by one second.
