Tallaght Athletes Fly the Flag at Stormont

A number of our senior athletes represented Ireland in the recent British & Irish Masters Cross Country International at Stormont Castle.

Contesting the M35-49 8k International, Davy Byrne put in another fine display of endurance running when finishing 22nd overall in a time of 29.10. As the 4th and final scoring member of the Irish team he played a leading role in helping secure the team gold in the M35 category and later joined in the triumphant celebrations that greeted this rare team win.

Earlier in the day Niall Coppinger, after his recent good run in the Adidas Dublin City Marathon contested the Open 8k. Running well to the fore throughout the contest he eventually crossed the line in 11th overall in a large field of seasoned cross country runners, in a time of 32.13.
