The last week some of our athletes produced some fine performances in a variety of events at different venues.
Ronan Kearns had another good outing, delivering bronze for the club in the Leinster Senior Indoor Championships in Nenagh on Saturday last with David Somerville adding won silver in the Junior men’s 800m at the same venue.

Earlier in the week Aisling Johnston, recorded her second win of the week when she ran out a convincing winner for Colaiste De h-Ide at the DCU Invitational Cross Country meet. Competing in the U17 2,000m contest against some good athletes from around the country, the 14year old led the field from the start, gradually building a gap on her rivals as the race progressed to cross the line almost 100m ahead of the second finisher, with
club colleague, Rebecca Game finishing a very good 6th. Stacey O’ Connor and Laura Finlay followed them home, and their combined placings secured the team bronze trophies for their school.

Aisling recorded her third win of the week at Marlay Park, where she won the 5th and final race of the Dublin Board cross country league series in convincing style over a distance of 2k, to record her 4th consecutive league title, and Rebecca Game will be pleased with her second placing, which guarantees her at least the bronze league trophy, with the possibility of silver, after the combined points for the 5 races are added.

Phillip Kelly was 6th in the boys 2k in the same age category, whilst our boys in the U16 3k event had a good outing securing the team gold medals, with Leigh Bolger placed 2nd, Niall Forrester, 4th and Stewart Kelly 3rd.
