Tallaght AC Ladies put up a good show at Meet + Train Cross Country in Swords

Edel Madigan of Sportsworld won the third round of the Women's Meet and Train Winter League on a bitterly cold morning in Balheary Park, Swords on Sunday.

Edel came home with a time of 12 mins 18 secs for the two- mile course. A total of 96 athletes ran and Tallaght AC was well represented with 8 athletes in the line up.

Tallaght’s Sharon Tighe has been making a habit of finishing in 6th place in these races and so it was to be again as Sharon battled to finish as Tallaght’s top runner in a fine time of 12.50. Paula Murray was next for the Club in 12th followed closely by Lisa Curley in 14th. Marisa Mc Millan secured her first top twenty placing in the series with a very pleasing run in 17th. Susan Adams and Martina Farrell were just 5 places adrift and Michelle Fitpatrick and Susan Holland are improving with every run and these results will ensure the Club is in the mix when the awards are dished up after the last race of the series in two weeks time.
