Tallaght Athletic Club fielded 2 teams in
last Sundays first race of the Meet+Train Winter League.
The race was held on a bright Sunday morning but conditions were
tough following last week’s downpours.
In all 133 runners started the race and the girls from Tallaght were
up there with the best of them from the word go.
Full results are not available yet but four of the Tallaght athletes
achieved top twenty placings. Pride of place must go to Sharon Tighe
who made her debut in the Tallaght vest finishing in 6th place. Lisa
Curley certainly stepped up to the mark with a super run in 12th
place while Paula Murray and Susan Adams also achieved top twenty
placings.
Well done too to Martina Farrell, Janice Mahon, Susan Holland ,
Mairead Nic Siosta and Michelle Fitzpatrick.
The next race takes place in Tymon Park on Sunday November 22nd 2009
and a strong showing from Tallaght is expected.
