At the conclusion of the Dublin
Indoor Championships at Santry last weekend our juveniles again produced
some fine performances winning 7 additional individual gold, 8 silver
and 5 bronze, in addition to a gold, silver and two bronze in the relay
events.

Jade Johnston had to settle for
silver when she was caught in the dying stages of the U11 500m on Friday
evening and secured bronze in the long jump on Sunday, whilst in the
boys category, Craig Henry produced some fine jumps to take silver in
his long jump competition.
Tallaght had a one-two in the U12 high jump contest, with Jonathan Fleet
taking Gold and Killian Morris the silver honours. Also at U12 level,
Dylan Murphy secured the long jump title after some fine efforts,
following his bronze in the 600m contest. At U13 level Grace Kristensen
took bronze in the high jump and in the U14 contest Emma Prior took
silver to add to her Gold in the Walk, with Annmarie Mc Clean securing
bronze in the long jump, just missing out on the silver, after count
back.

Jade Corcoran was very unlucky
to be caught on the line in the U15 800m, having to settle for silver.
Aisling Johnston did the double when taking both the 800m and 1500m
titles with Rebecca Game securing bronze in the 800m. contest and
Aoibheann Tierney doing likewise in the U17 800m event.
Brian Gregan again produced another fine performance to take his second
title of these championships when dipping below 50secs in the U18 400m
event and Robert Fitzsimons took the 1500m gold in this age category,
with Anthony Lieghio securing Silver in the 800m and Laura Finlay also
taking silver in the 300m.

In the U19 category, David
Somerville took Silver in the 800m and Bronagh O’ Hanlon followed suit
in the 1500m.
In the relay contests the U11 girls, Emma Reid, Feinne Condren, Chloe
Voyles and Jade Johnston combined well to take the bronze award in the 4
X 50m contest, with the boys U12, Killian Morris, Adam Prior, Craig
Henry and Dylan Murphy going one place better in their 4 X 100m event.
In the U16 4 X 200, Rebecca Game, Roisin O’ Hanlon, Jade Corcoran and
Aisling Johnston secured the bronze medals whilst the U18 boys Sean
Morris, Sean Bolger, Michael Solan and Brian Gregan stormed to the top
of the podium in their 4 X 200m. contest.
Elsewhere, in the National Short Course Cross Country in Tymon Park on
Saturday last Davey Byrne (13.51), Ronan Kearns (14.09), Nilton Demorez
(14.10) and James Crowley (15.00), combined well to finish 6th team
overall.
