Tallaght AC Masters Men had their
most successful outing in a number of years with 5 athletes competing in
both the 5K and 4x100M Relay.
In the 5K, Niall Coppinger had a super run to finish with bronze in the
M40 in a track PB time of 15.53.
Billy Murphy finished in 8th place in the same category. Desie and
Derek had a superb battle throughout with Desie just edging it in a
sprint finish with times of 17.03 and 17.04 respectively.
A couple of hours later our Masters lined up for the 4x100 relay.
Desie took out the first leg, handing over to Billy, then onto Derek who
passed the baton to our latest recruit John Kelly, who sprinted home to
take the bronze medal position. John had already done very well
earlier in the day in the 100M and 200M races.
The day couldn't have turned out better with all 5 of our Masters
picking up bronze medals. These medals were well deserved and just
reward for all the hard training put in by our athletes.
Roll on the Dublin 10 mile Championships next Saturday.
