Tallaght A.C. masters certainly made their mark in the National 10k Road race Championships which were incorporated in the Great Ireland run in the Phoenix Park recently.
Jaqui Boyle (40.21) finished 6th in the 35+ ladies masters category and combined with Sharon Tighe (42.42) 8th in the category and Paula Murray (44.15) 9th to take the bronze team medals, with Susan Adams (48.06) and Martina Farrell (48.53) following them home.

Elsewhere our juveniles continued to make their mark in the Dublin Juvenile T&F League Series. After the first 2 leagues which were held on the Tallaght track in recent weeks, Christopher Duffy U11, Kayleigh Clarke U12, Jade Johnston U15, Conor Murray U15 and Keith Doherty U16 established themselves at the top of their age groups after some fine performances in both track and field contests, whilst a number of others including James Ackerman 3rd U11, Dylan Kennedy 2nd U15, Killian Morris 2nd and John Daly 4th U16 are well positioned for league trophies, along with many more who are only a few points off the top 6 positions. With the final 2 league competitions taking place on Friday 7th in Santry and Friday 14th in Irishtown our young athletes will be aiming to make further progress.
Whilst the younger juveniles were battling it out, others such as U19’s Sean Fitzpatrick, Roisin O’ Hanlon, Niall Meehan and U17’s Uchenna Uwechue and Phillip Murray set new P.B’s in the Dublin Graded League Series at Santry where Seniors Sean Bolger, Alan Casey (high jump), Katie Fitzpatrick, Daniel Kilgallon, Derek Kennedy and Davy Byrne also did well.
