A number of Tallaght athletes produced some excellent performances at
the first Dublin Graded Meet Series at Santry last week.
Keith Doherty will no douby be moving up the grades after was an easy
winner in Grade D 100m where he easily won with a new P.B. of 11.39 with
Sean Morris back in 4th in 11.82, whilst Daniel Kilgallon
after a very lengthy spell away from athletics showed he is also on the
way back after he won the Grade C 100m in 12.47 whilst Patrick Curran
recorded 12.27 when he finished 4th in his contest followed
by Peter Ogde in 5th with a time of 12.41. Alan Ward
unfortunately had to pull up with a hamstring injury in his contest.
Artjom Kutjavin who was competing in his first track contest in more
than 10 years showed he too is well on the upgrade after he won the
Grade C 800m contest in a time of 2.02.30 whilst Sean Mc Cabe who was
only eligible in age to compete this year had an excellent run to take
second in the Grade D 800m contest in a time of 2.11.80 followed by
Philip Murray in 4th with a time of 2.16.67 and in the 3,000m
Davy Byrne finished 5th in a time of 9.05.7.
In the field event contests Patrick Curran finished 3rd after
his best jump of 5.19 whilst Killian Morris in his graded league debut
cleared 1.70 to finish 5th in the high jump contest.
