Tomas Fitzpatrick has been in the best form of his life in recent weeks. After a number of very encouraging runs in Nenagh in January where he produced some excellent times in a number of 3,000m contests, including a new P. B. of 8.27 for the distance, he followed up with a great run over 1500m in the Leinster Indoor Championships where recorded a new championship best performance of 3.56.94 when taking the title.
These competitions undoubtedly were the foundation for his most recent achievement in the National Indoors in the Odyssey Arena, Belfast, where he knocked a massive 12 .7 seconds off his previous 3k time to take the bronze medal. Tomas will undoubtedly be aiming to transfer these achievements to outdoor competitions.
Sean Bolger and Katie Fitzpatrick also competed in the National Indoors in the 400m and 60m respectively and both will be aiming to build on their initial outings of 2010 as the season develops.
