Tallaght athletes were again to the fore in the recent National Intermediate and Masters Cross Country Championships held in Tymon Park.

In the Intermediate 10,000 contest, both Thomas Fitzpatrick and Eoin Dunne played a leading role in securing the team gold medals for Dublin after finishing 4th (2nd Dub to finish) and 21st respectively whilst Jeetun Dharmanji finished 15th and James Crowley 80th of the finishers of the 10,000 contest. The combined finishing positions of the first 3 Tallaght athletes to cross the line placed them 5th overall in the club team category.

In the Masters 7,000 Davy Byrnes Davy Byrne again put in another solid effort to finish 9th (22.25) of the 178 finishers, and his efforts helped Dublin win the team silver medals. Desie Shorten finished 4th in the V4 category with Brendan Ryan following him home.
